Pt-II-catalyzed cyclization of beta-to-beta ethynylene-bridged meso-amino Ni-II porphyrin dimer 4 followed by oxidation with PbO2 afforded 1,5-naphthyridine-fused porphyrin dimer 5 in good yield.
